How thin clients improve corporate data security while help reducing the total cost of ownership (TCO).

The greatest area of risk is the corporate data sitting on PC and laptop hard disk drives. NEC’s VPCC solution solves these issues by changing the enterprise employee computing paradigm and offering superior multimedia capabilities all at a lower TCO. PC desktop systems that need protecting are complex and the threat is constantly changing.


The NEC approach is to combine the presentation server thin client approach with a full Windows XP PC environment in the data center, delivered to PC users through the US100 Thin Client unit. The management of the Thin Client PC environments is accomplished through the NEC Sigma System Center (SSC) management software. Virtualizing PC sessions, handling application and operating system updates, backups, are more are easily accomplished through the SSC.


The system can optionally also support a VoIP telephone solution. All data resides on the NEC VPPC servers, with optional storage area network (SAN) support available.
